Our trust desk received just over four hundred reports in a single quarter. Almost all of them concerned listings found somewhere other than Suyaara — group chats, social posts, and pages copying real production names. The patterns repeat so reliably that six signals cover nearly every case.
One: any request for money
Registration fee, portfolio fee, screen test fee, processing fee, refundable security deposit, membership. The wording varies and the answer never does. No legitimate production charges a performer to be considered, and none of these are industry norms anywhere in India.
Two: a private address
Auditions happen at production offices, casting studios or hired commercial spaces. An audition proposed at somebody's flat or a hotel room is not an audition. This is the signal that most often precedes serious harm, and there is no context that makes it acceptable.
There is no version of a legitimate audition that happens in a hotel room.
Three: urgency
Real casting has deadlines. Real casting does not need an answer in eleven minutes, and does not tell you the role is being held only for you. Manufactured urgency exists to stop you checking, which is precisely why you should stop and check.
Four: no number
A listing that will not state a fee, or answers the pay question with something conditional on your performance, is either disorganised or dishonest. Neither is worth your day. Every listing on Suyaara must state a figure before it can go live.
Five: moving the conversation
Being asked to continue on a personal messaging app before anything is agreed removes the record. If someone wants the conversation somewhere it cannot be reviewed, that is information about the conversation they intend to have.
Six: documents before a contract
Identity documents and bank details are needed to pay you, which happens after a booking exists. Anyone collecting them before there is a signed agreement is collecting them for a different reason.
If you see any of these, report it. On Suyaara that takes one tap and a human reviews it within four hours. Off Suyaara, tell the platform it appeared on, and tell other people — most of these operations survive on the fact that nobody compares notes.
